Photo-A-Day | Documenting my children throughout the year.

Not every picture has to have meaning.
Or some really cool artistic angle.
Or everyone smiling.
Sometimes, you just have to get a picture
Standing in front of the crazy ice-covered trees of Reelfoot Lake.
But before, one of them…three of them had to use the bathroom.
(Real life never takes a break!)
Imagine trying to maneuver the ice balls on the ground.
With cold hands.
Ears.
Feet.
Arms.
Even your brain.
And you can tell someone wasn’t happy to stand on the ice.
Or not be held by her momma.
You wanna talk about skills?
Try holding your 23-month-old baby,
On a pier,
Covered with ice,
With 4 kids walking around,
Shooting landscape images…
Squatting.
Oh, and picking up Harper’s boot about 286 times.
I can tell you, though,
Aside from the cold,
You kiddos enjoyed it.
It was neat, awesome,
“Hey mom, look at the dead frozen turtle in the water!!!”
As you all peered over the, well, pier.
A little bit more of a drive around the lake,
And a good meal at Boyette’s to finish off the trip.
Then a warm ride back with the most beautiful sky of stars.
Just like ice in the sky.
