Mother and daughter. Those two words go together like a hand and a glove. Sometimes, it’s more like water and oil, as us moms of daughters are quite aware.

When Mom called me to book a session, she wanted it to be her and her daughter, K. I’ve known them for quite a while and I know how they interact with each other. Their sense of humor, their rambunctiousness, their tight bond. I knew it would be a fun session, and as such, I wasn’t let down.

Going to my usual, grungy locations always amazes my clients that I would even think to go to some of these places. But once they see the results, they are astounded at how “junk” makes for great images. We even found another secret area of one of my main shooting locations and I love that little place.

We then went to a friend’s property to use their barn and I loved what I got from the area. B + K were constantly cracking up at each other, which always brings a great sense of laughter to the session and makes my job easier to capture the mood of the session. They didn’t let me down.

I know how very special this session was for them and it means a lot to me that Mom chose me to be their photographer. These two made me realize even more what it means as a parent to get in the picture with your children. I appreciate it wholeheartedly that Mom decided to do this. Her daughter will be so very grateful someday when she looks back at these beautiful images. Thank you for sharing your morning with me and for the great laughter and conversation.
