Well, how’s the old saying go? “Out with the old, in with the new”? Well, here we go with another year!

This year in 2012, I saw many changes in my life, personal and professional. The biggest change was adding a new sweet little baby to our family in February, Miss Harper Grace. She has been a blessing to our growing family, joining 4 other siblings. She made her debut three weeks early, and one of the scariest moments of my life! Being in labor, an hour away from your hospital and NOT KNOWING IT UNTIL IT WAS ALMOST TOO LATE, was most certainly a challenge, but I’m so happy that she made it her, healthy and beautiful.

All of our children are growing up so fast and I’m amazed at how slowly a day can go by, yet a year flies by like lightning. My husband and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary this year as well, and we are just trucking along with our little munchkins in tow. Oh, and our cat, Mani too – can’t forget about our big, fat, lazy cat! This year also saw a time of sadness for our family as my mother-in-law passed away after short illness. She is definitely a presence that is missed in our lives, especially our children, and especially Cooper, who had a hard time understanding that she is in Heaven. God rest your soul, sweet lady!

Also wanted to make note of a personal project I’ll be undertaking for the month of January – a Photo-A-Day project inspired by Australian photographer Kristen Cook. You can read more about it on my January 1 post. I’m super excited to commit to a personal photo project that won’t stress me out throughout the rest of the year and make me want a prescription of Xanax to get through it.

As for business, this year saw another record year. Considering that I took off for a while after having Harper, I’d say that it is pretty awesome to see the numbers go up. I’ve had previous clients come back to me, as well as meeting new clients that I hope to keep my relationship with them going strong.

Last year when I blogged my New Year post, I wrote that I would be blogging more since I’d put that business task on the backburner for pregnancy and a new baby to take over. Yet, I wildly underestimated the work that it takes to care for a baby (you’d think I’d know that by now since I already have 4!!), and so, what time I had to put into business, I let blogging go to the back burner once again. So, I’m going to make every effort THIS YEAR to get not only caught up on blogging past sessions, but to also blog 2013 sessions as I close them. I’m so pumped about getting this done and I know I’ll have some happy clients as well!

I just want to say thank you to all of my clients, my supportive family & friends, the many likers and commenters on the Facebook page, my peers in this industry, and the local businesses who also support this business. You all have helped make a small town girl’s dream of being a business owner come true, but more importantly, many of you have become friends of mine. I look forward to what 2013 holds for Stephanie Greenwell Photography, as well as for my family. Many blessings for a happy and prosperous new year!

Here’s a look at my 2013 clients – families, seniors, newborns, babies, children, couples, and maternity! Thank you again for choosing me to be your professional photographer!
