My kids love Halloween – most kids do! And why wouldn’t they? There are parties at school, trips to area businesses, candy, sugary drinks, and let’s not forget the fun of wearing their favorite Halloween costumes! My kids love it – the excitement the night before and they actually get up earlier than normal to get ready.

We started out our trip at 4:45, but not without the official Halloween group picture. That in itself was a task – Aubrey left Toto in the house(and thus she didn’t want to get in the picture without her dog), Cooper didn’t want to be next to anybody, and poor ol’ Harper was just downright unhappy with that cherry-on-top hat on her head(see image below).

So, then we went uptown to participate in the Trunk-or-Treat. It wasn’t all they wanted it to be because we had to wait in line until it began, and God knows kids are not patient! Even Brennan wasn’t into it, so he sat on a bench and waited for the rest of us to go through. And then Aubrey started griping about her costume itching, although it never itched all day – say it with me, Moms – she needed a nap!!

When we finally got through it, we headed back home and met up with some of our friends who have a trailer to pull around the kiddos. There’s always this one house in our neighborhood that goes all out for Halloween – decorations, a butcher scenery, scary music, and lots of scares (except for the little ones). We always look forward to going to their house. Needless to say, the evening was great for all the kids and they had plenty of treats to dig through when we got home. And with four kids, there are a lot of treats!

Here’s a little Halloween sweetness of my crew: Dorothy (Aubrey), Zombie Hunter (Brennan), The Flash (Cooper), Zombie Bride (Haley), and my little Cupcake (Harper).
