As I’ve been going through the images from our 2011 Destin, Florida vacation(yeah, I know, that was TWO YEARS AGO!!), I’m finding that my love for the beach is even stronger than it was ten years ago when I married my husband on the white sandy beaches of the Emerald Coast. Processing the images of my children, when I was first learning how to shoot on the beach, it’s just really made me feel this strong(er) attachment to this realm of photography.
I love photography, no doubt, but capturing my children as they explore the beach, in a place that makes my children so very happy, just fills my soul with so much happiness. So much so, that even though I had already decided that we wouldn’t make it the beach this year has now turned into an all-out plan to get us there sometime this summer. When I told my kids yesterday that I was working on a beach vacation, the joy and squeals were overwhelming! I’m squealing too, and already planning out the images that I want to capture so that I can hang them in our newly, partly-decorated bedroom – images of place that brings us closer as family, and reminds of the special times we’ve shared.
Here’s to making memories this summer of 2013.
At the beaches of the Emerald Coast…
