He’s been bitten by a bug.
About a year and a half ago, he went on his first hunting trip.
He’s had a few outings since then.
Even shot his first 10-pt deer this past November.
Today, he shot his first duck.
Then another one.
And another one.
Yes, he’s been bitten –
This kid is taken over by the hunting bug.
That’s all he talks about.
Lives it, breathes it, sleeps it.
Tonight he conked out after a excitedly sleepless night.
An early morning hunt.
Cleaning his kill.
He’s been on an adrenaline rush all day.
Now he sleeps in the chair, too tired to get up.
Oh, and notice the patriotic blanket
Wrapped around my little solidier boy.
