Photo-A-Day | Documenting my children every day for the month of January.
We’ve been lazy around the house today.
I’m off, your Daddy is off.
Clearing up the final remnants of Christmas.
Finally.
I walked into the kitchen about the same time as you.
You.
Walking through, holding your Kindle in one hand.
Listening to Adele singing “Don’t you remembeeeeeeerrr?”
And then my heart melted.
You, holding Aubrey’s baby doll on your shoulder,
Heading to the back bedroom.
So, I walked away to get my camera.
Then I quietly entered into your private world.
You didn’t even flinch.
You were playing a game on the kindle,
Snuggled in the bed,
Listening to Adele,
(It totally cracks me up how much you looooove her).
Then I saw it.
The baby doll, so neatly tucked in next to you.
I would’ve cried.
But I knew you would stop what you’re doing to ask me about crying.
I just gently stepped up on the bed, and snapped a few.
I never said a word.
You never said a word.
Upon leaving, I kissed you on the forehead.
“I love you.”
And I walked out.
You are going to make a wonderful daddy someday, Cooper.
