Well, this comes 6 months after I thought my image would be published in the July 2014 National Geographic Magazine, and it’s now official that my image was actually PUBLISHED WORLDWIDE in their tablet editions. (Oh but what I’d give to see my image in the actual magazine!)
I can’t express how upset I was over the ordeal last summer – of course, worse things in this world could happen and that’s how I looked at it after sulking for a little bit. But now, I can officially say that I’m a internationally published photographer in National Geographic magazine and I’m very thankful that they took the time to inform me of the news.
Thank you all again for helping to make my image seen on the worldwide stage, even if it’s the tablet edition.
P.S. My original image was much lighter than the one shown, but I’ll take it.

In case you can’t read the email in the attached image, this is what it reads:
“Hi Stephanie —
We’re a few months late sharing the news, but your photo was indeed chosen for publication. It didn’t run into the domestic U.S. print edition, but did appear in our tablet editions worldwide in July 2014. See attached for the digital layout. Congratulations again and thanks for sharing your photo with us.
Best,
Dan”
