I think it goes without saying that shooting senior sessions is my calling in photography. I enjoy the one-on-one interaction, the funny stories they tell me (and I share some of mine too!), and the all out fun and excitement that seniors bring to the session all because they know it’s their last year in school and they are SENIORS!!! I totally remember that feeling – I felt like I could conquer the world during my senior year.

So, Allison was no different. She brought along a friend and we had so much fun and laughs. I got to hear stories that totally took me back to my high school days. I have to say, I’m glad those days are behind me though. Geez, there’s nothing like high school antics that, as an married adult with mouths to feed, make you appreciate how far you’ve made it. If that’s the case, I’m well beyond appreciative – I’m just glad to be alive!

I got to try out some new locations for this session, one being an old vintage car place. I’ve been eyeballing this place for some time, thinking how cool it would be to have some senior sessions there. I finally contacted Don, of Don’s Classic Car Projects located on Hwy. 412 between Kennett and Hayti, and he was more than happy to let me shoot out there. If you didn’t already know, I’m a huge fan of old rusty places, so I felt like I was in rust Heaven and my creativity just starts coming out my head. Allison had the perfect outfit for this location, reminded of my Sandy from Grease. Paired with her beauty, the resulting images just kicked butt. Ninja-style.

Speaking of, so happy that I’m comfortable with my non-high school body these days, because otherwise, I would ooze with jealousy over her tiny figure. Yeah, like, I couldn’t fit one leg in both legs of her pants. Carry on.

After we left the car place, we headed to Caruthersville and took a few shots there. The session went a little longer than expected, but again, I enjoyed hanging with the 18 year olds. Free entertainment and laughs. I think deep down inside, they want to call me and see if I want to hang out again. I just know it.

Allison, seriously, I had a great time with you two. I’m glad you let me try out some new ideas and locations because they really turned out better than I ever planned. Congratulations on your graduation and best wishes on your freshman year in college – I’m sure you’ll find that college will be far more entertaining than high school. Have fun, keep it real – and I’ll be watching your Facebook updates too.
